Waldo Custom Blend: An improved soil fertility recipe designed to address common and not so common shortages of minerals, trace elements, micronutrients, beneficial soil inoculants, microbial foods and plant needs for the Northeastern US.

Compiled soil, field data and experiences from hundreds of farmers and gardeners over several years, have been distilled into this refined recipe evolving into it’s third year as a popular and effective soil conditioning amendment.

All of the ingredients of Waldo Custom Blend may be used in both organic agriculture practices and conventionally managed soils.
It is the responsibility of the user to read the ingredients and determine needs based on soil tests and experience, particularly when seeking organic certification. You must check with your certifier for final approval. *In a very few cases, Zinc, Manganese or Boron may exceed the loading limit for a particular soil as demonstrated by soil testing. Copper Sulfate has been omitted from this edition of WCB due to excessive over use of copper hydroxides in organic blight control.

It is suggested that a broadcast application of 50 - 100 lbs per 1000 square feet or up to 2000 lbs per acre is a good starting point. In very deficient soils , this may be increased and split applied as a fall and / or spring top dressing if tests prove there is need. Use as an amendment at seedbed preparation, for cover crops and during row crop cultivation with weeding opportunities.

It may be used to fortify potting soils with 1 cup per cubic foot in seed starting mixes or as much as 1.5 cups per cubic foot in transplanting mixes.
this translates into approximately 1.5- 2 gallons of Waldo Custom Blend per cubic yard (27 cu ft) of potting mix, compost or soil for potted plants.

Waldo Custom Blend can also be applied in a fertilizer box at seeding time.
It is suggested to spread 50 lbs per 250 feet of wide row for heavy feeding crops. It can be banded under or beside the row.
Split applications will often work better than a single dose of the recommended amount, particularly in excessively wet seasons.
Side dressing during cultivation is an ideal time for application.
It will not burn plants or seeds.

Because of its powdered and granular consistency, a drop spreader, rather than a spin spreader is most effective.

Farmers may evenly layer WCB 2010 within manure or compost spreader loads for efficiency.
